Friend of Woven Store Becky talks through her approach to personal styling.
Hi, I’m Becky—though most people call me Bec. With over 25 years in the fashion industry, my journey began as a retail assistant in small designer boutiques. As my passion for fashion grew and people took an interest in my personal style, I moved into freelance styling and personal shopping, which I’ve been dedicated to ever since. I work closely with clients in their own homes, helping them edit and restyle their wardrobes while also selling pre-loved pieces through my online shop and pop-up events.
I approach every client with empathy, understanding that fashion can sometimes feel intimidating or unattainable. My goal is to break down those barriers, helping people enjoy the benefits of fashion no matter their age, size, or budget. Whether it’s supporting someone through a life change, finding pieces that flatter their shape, or simply injecting fresh energy into their wardrobe, I believe fashion should be empowering, not overwhelming.
When it comes to my own style, I love creative dressing that feels effortless. I gravitate towards neutral tones but always embrace the occasional pop of colour. Mixing textures, playing with different silhouettes, and adding an element of fun are key to my approach. For me, great style is all about balance and individuality—bringing together unexpected details in a way that feels personal and unique.
More recently, I took the leap into social media, launching @stylingbybec, a platform where I share free styling advice and inspiration. I never expected it to take off the way it has, but since starting, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some incredible brands and businesses.
So, here I am—Styling By Bec—doing what I love and helping people feel confident in what they wear!
