An early morning flight gets us to our first trade show visit at Tranoi being one of the largest shows we attend. This is always a two fold visit for us not only placing our orders with brands (keeping ours eyes open for a new little gem) but also visiting the lovely team from Hannoh, Aequamente & MJ Watson who we represent in our wholesale business as well as stocking at Woven store.
show there. Tranoi has a well curated mix of brands that fit together whilst also hosting a platform for new designers from around the world. It’s situated in the beautiful Palais du Bourse which is always a joy to walk around and take in the stunning architecture. Here we met the Kagure team from Japan; their collection was beautiful. We also met our friends from Uk brand Sula which we have taken on for AW25.
On our flight we made good use of the time and developed some collection story ideas and listed what items we needed to complete them, a little different from how we usually form our ideas but this really paid off come the end of our buying.
On day 2 we had appointments with Italian brands Apuntob & Album di Famiglia, both had incredible collections and we selected some fantastic key pieces that finished off our AW buy which we are super excited about. We always love to visit our favourite stores whilst in Paris and the iconic Merci in the Marais never disappoints… a few purchases were made!! So worth a visit as the mix of clothing (mens & womens) is outstanding mixed in with carefully chosen homewares & lifestyle goods. We than visited Premiere Classe show at the Tuileries Garden which is home to a huge selection of accessory collections to meet with our show brand Chie Mihara… we have selected a beautiful boot style that completes our look for next season.
The final day allows us time to soak up the inspiration found all around us in this beautiful city, people watch and chat through our findings ensuring we’ve not crossed over on styles and made the right choices of product by piecing it all together.
Of course we have the opportunity to eat and drink and here are some of our favourite places;
Le Chardon - classic bistro serving good food and drinks. Rue Bouchardon, 75010
Buvette - small menu, great cheeseboard and wines. 28 rue Henry Monnier, Pigalle
Le Petit Marche - classic french cuisine, great to sit outside when it’s warm. 9 rue de Béarn. Marais.
Holy Belly - for Brunch. Great family owned restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food. 5 rue Lucien Sampaix. Republique. Go early to avoid the long queue!
Immersion - Brunch. same street as HolyBelly. Good food and tunes.
Bar Nouveau - for the BEST cocktails we’ve ever tasted. 5 rue des Haudriettes, Marais.
Folderol - for homemade ice cream and natural wines, such as good vibe. 10 Rue du Grand-prieuré. Republique.
