We love the craftsmanship of weaving and dying processes that brands use to create special garments. This season we have carefully chosen a few garments that demonstrate this perfectly.
Copenhagen brand Rabens Saloner has, throughout the years, championed these processes to craft beautiful, timeless pieces that are both wearable and unique.
Watercolour dyed column dress;
Each piece is hand-dyed using a sponge, with the artisan’s eye guiding the placement of colour. The dye is applied to stretched white fabric, creating the intended pattern with precision and care
All their dyes are created by hand in our colour atelier in Bali. They work and collaborate with local artisans, who have carried the art and expertise of traditional dying techniques on for generations. This way each product is unique with distinctive one-of-a-kind patterns. That is the beauty of things made by hand and heart.
Ikat kimono dress and shirt;
Using a handheld screen, carefully placed on the fabric, the Ikat pattern slowly comes to life, with each piece shaped by the human hand.
Because every piece is dyed only with the eye as a guide, subtle variations in colour and pattern make each style unique - a natural result of working by hand rather than machine.
