Every year, Black Friday arrives with a rush of discounts, countdown timers, and endless pressure to buy more. It’s a huge moment for big retailers but for us at Woven, it doesn’t align with who we are or how we create.
We’re a small business rooted in slow making, fair processes, and thoughtful design. So instead of joining the noise, we choose to step back and stay true to our values. Here’s why.
Our products are thoughtfully crafted, usually in limited runs to ensure lasting quality. Offering deep discounts can encourage fast, careless purchases, which goes against our mission of offering timeless and durable pieces that customers love for years.
By choosing to step back from Black Friday, we honour the makers who shape our collections. Whether it’s the beautifully crafted bags by Paula Kirkwood, the heritage craftsmanship of Ankole Horn, the naturally dyed socks from Yahae, or the many other artisans we’re proud to support.
Thank you for supporting thoughtful design, fair production, and independent makers.
