With autumn fast approaching there’s no better time to delve into your wardrobe and assess items that you need.
We always advise getting as much wear as possible from each item you purchase so having a try on is often a great way to create some new outfits from older pieces. You can also decide if anything needs rehoming at either your local preloved store, charity shop for much loved but well worn or sell on one of the online platforms. Sometimes a garment just no longer works for us or we reach for other items instead; this signifies it’s time to clear the dead wood.
It’s also a good time to get clothing repaired or cleaned so you’re ready to go when the season hits. We love a bit of visible mending adding another texture and telling a story, if you’re handy with a needle you can find lots of video tuition online to do this.
Next make a list of any gaps that you knew you had last winter ie; a coat or winter jacket, a classic black knit or a new shape trouser. These items need nailing first, also don’t be afraid to buy garments and keep them back until its weather appropriate so you don’t miss out on the style & size.
The in-between seasons is the perfect time to top up on your wardrobe basics, we love to invest in good layering pieces that become an integral part of our everyday getting dressed. For us it has to be Elliot Organics for the best cotton tees and jersey garments, we always tend to be wearing something from this brand on repeat.
Rewear + repair as much as you can and invest in garments that not only will last but that you will love for years to come.
